What's the difference between oils and serums?
Serums are water-based products that have a smaller molecule size so they can penetrate deeply into the skin. Serums hydrate and provide some of the most potent botanicals that work on deeper layers of the skin. Face oils tend to have a larger molecule size than serums and work on the upper layers of skin. Oils are extremely moisturizing and work to reinforce the skin barrier. We recommend using a serum and an oil daily. Serums should be applied first, allowed to completely absorb, and then an oil should be applied next.
HOW TO USE
Use up to twice daily. In hands, mix 1-2 shakes of our Vitamin C Booster into the Illuminate BC+ Brightening Serum until dissolved. Apply Illuminate BC+ Brightening Serum on clean, slightly damp face and neck area. Allow serum to absorb for 2-3 minutes. For optimal results, and to lock in active ingredients, follow with a Naked & Thriving moisturizing face oil or face cream. If using both, allow face cream to absorb before applying face oil.
Pro Tip: For an added boost of brightness, build up your use from 1-2 shakes to 2-4 shakes as your skin adjusts to the product.
Advice When Using Any Powder Form Vitamin C: As with all beauty products, we recommend doing a patch test prior to use. Avoid contact with the eyes, cease use if irritation occurs, and use on unbroken skin only. Please note that we do not recommend using the Vitamin C Booster alongside other acidic treatments or potential irritants, such as Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), or retinol and its derivatives.
