I understand how disappointing it can be when a product doesn’t yet meet your expectations. I’d love to share a little more about Renew’s formula and a few tips on how to get the most out of your regimen. Because Renew Resurfacing Night Serum contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids (which can be sensitizing), we recommend initially applying Renew twice per week and then gradually increasing from there to give your skin a chance to adjust. AHAs can also increase sun sensitivity–as mentioned on the box–so be sure to apply SPF, limit sun exposure, and use Renew exclusively in the evenings. In addition, given the AHAs, we do not recommend applying Renew around the delicate eye area. As for Renew’s scent, it’s important to note that none of our skincare is formulated without any synthetic ingredients, meaning that none of our formulas contain added fragrances, which can be sensitizing. Renew is made from Aloe, Fruit Extracts, and Glycolic Acid; as a result, many customers describe it as having a light, watery, and slightly acidic scent. All that said, I completely understand that scent preference is very personal. It’s also important to apply skincare in the optimal order. We recommend applying our products from thinnest to thickest, in this order: 1) Cleanser, 2) Serum, 3) Eye Cream, 4) Face Cream, 5) Face Oil. After cleansing and while your skin is still slightly damp, apply Renew and allow it to absorb for 2-3 minutes. Then proceed with the rest of your routine. Finally, I’m happy to share that in an independent clinical study with 33 Renew users over 4 weeks, 97% showed a decrease in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, 100% showed an increase in hydration, and 7 out of 10 showed improvement in skin tone and texture (of course, everyone’s skin is unique so results can vary).
